I was born there, but moved away when I was 6. I went back this summer to visit family and made it a point to visit some beer joints while I was up there. I was pleased with what I found. My favorite places were Rocky River Brewing Company, Buckeye Beer Engine and The Brew Kettle. The Brew Kettle was particularly fascinating because it had a brew-your-own shop in the back, but the front of the house was a brewpub. They had my favorite beer of the trip, with the Olde 21 IPA winning the gold star. It was an all Simcoe hop explosion. Aromatic and delicious! It always seems to amaze people when they find good things in Cleveland. I was born there, but moved away when I was 6.
